The client wished to enhance the sleep-over capacity for short term guests. The house was built in true 70s style high ceilings architecture, allowing for mezzanine additions. We wanted to provide a dramatic experience of the LR space and its height by inserting an open staircase and balcony. Two bedrooms received either a mattress mezzanine or a full second floor as a sleeping den, accommodating space for 9 adults in addition to the original 3 queen size beds on the ground floor. The master bedroom kept its original layout but received a glamorous wall decor, referencing nature. The alterations and custom furnishings aimed to keep in style with the 70s, the client's mood of rock 'n' roll and extensive weekend parties.
